This is in response to the terms of service listed on the site and a FREE promotion offering 50 bids. Myth Busting: Really think you can get something for nothing with a free bid promotion? Do a little research first. You’ll find numerous complaints that there is a $99 hidden fee. I tested this theory for my blog. I read the ‘terms of service’ fine print with the only reference to this hidden fee being that you will have to purchase bids before using the site. I spoke with someone on their live chat & asked if there was an automatic registration fee that would be charged the answer was the same was the limited info in the terms of service (re: that you need to buy bids before being able to bid). Once you register you do get the 50 free bids they are promoting but your credit card will be charged $99 for a package of bought bids. They issued an email refund confirmation for the ‘full’ amount when I called & told me it would take 5-7 business days to show on the card. When the refund was issued she referred to this $99 fee as a ‘membership fee’ & that the site is a paid membership site. One can not even see what is on the auction site without paying what the customer service representative referred to as a membership fee. I have no issue with the penny auction system & all sites I’ve seen thus far are run as such. However, I do think they need to write the terms of service fully disclosing the amount your credit card will be charged automatically upon sign-up and it would go better with consumers if they allowed registration for free but then members could not bid without buying bids once their account is already setup and they’ve had a chance to review the site and review auctions. It’s sort of like charging someone an entrance fee just to be able to grab a seat at an auction and then telling them they can only bid until that fee is exhausted and then they have to pay additional money whether the item is won or not. You definitely need to be savvy to take advantage of the savings.

Won two auctions on 4/11/11 and 4/12/11 and have not received my items and have contacted this Web site at least 15 times without getting any response. The phone number they provide only deals with “returns” The phone number is 1-877-908-1713. Very upset with this site and will contact my credit card to dispute any money spent on bids and items

In my opinion, savebig.com is a SCAM and should be shut down immediately.

SaveBig.com should be called BigFools.com!!!
BEWARE! As you’re filling out what they represent as a “registration fee”, what you’re reallying doing is giving them some of your most important information (i.e. credit card number, name, address, phone number, who you bank with, etc.). And what you get for all that is THEM TAKING $99.00, which was called a “registration fee” that soon turns into a “membership fee”, and on and on. So your STUCK now. They have ALL the information they need to keep ripping you off.
I belong to 3-4 other bidding sites, but they NEVER scammed me into giving them $99.00! All I wanted to do was have a look at the site, see what it was all about, etc. Now I’m $99.00 in the hole!! I’m so irate I could just scream. And like the one lady above said, if you call their service number they direct you to another 1-800 number that says you will hear from them within 24 to 48 hours. Yeah, right!
Well, I’m not finished with this. I’m going to contact my Attorney General at the State of California and find out what can be done.
I’m on Social Security. You tell me if it makes any sense whatsoever for someone to join any $99.00 without even getting a chance to review it first. This company is very very slick. They trick you into buying the membership by “shuffling” the wording on their site. At least that’s how I feel. I’m so mad at myself too, for not reading all the fine print. But that’s not going to stop me. I’ve made it a mission of mine to GET MY MONEY BACK no matter how long it takes!
I’m sorry to see that so many got “caught”, just like myself. I hope you manage to get your money back. You’ve got to at least try, or these rip-off artists to keep STEALING from people. Aren’t times hard enough without idiots like them to make it harder and harder to trust anyone on the Internet anymore?

Bought items worth on bigsave.com. According to the rules, we are told that if you fail to win the bid item, you can opt to purchase the item (with in 2 hours after bid). The product will be shipped immediately.
Now as i type, its 15 days passed, no confirmation email nor shippment tracking number nor communication about the bought items. I have tried contacting bigsave for an answer but —- change in management is all am being given.
How do u explain failing to confirm shipment or updating buyers about dates their products will be delivered. For Godsake – Were spending money on these fools who dont even provide details about their location.
Has anyone ever received any item gotten from Bigsave – either bought directly or won after biding.

Please be aware of the Save Big friendly scam site. As long as you when small auction or your first auction, you will get your item very promptly; or if you win bid voucher auctions. The first time you win a item of more value, you may encounter this problem. I won a bid auction on a I pad 2 for 211.15, in which 21,115 where received by save big at .60 cents that’s $12,669. after 7 0r8 days, I sent an e-mail wondering bout my product, that payment was received the day after the auction. They replied with end 48 hour as stated saying it can take up to 14 days to process and after that if I haven’t received the item contact them. Well, amazingly as I forth saw coming, I received e-mail stating they had a “problem” with their shipper and my money will be refunded and for my troubles I would be credited 200 ($2.00) worth of bids and all bids used to win action. What about all the other bidders are they refunded, if they are real bidders and not company accounts used to raise amounts. Seriously, a company makes $12,669 on an auction and they blame it on a shipper, they could’ve ordered one and had it shipped to me. Well the matter is being reviewed by the BBB and the California Attorney General.

Don’t do it. I can not believe it…I got scammed. I am so frugal with my money and I thought this was real and was going to save me money. NOT! I am $99.00 in in the hole.
I did look to see if there were any reviews on this company but could not find any. I requested for a refund and they have not given me any refund but offered me more points…it is over 2 months and no refund. I don’t have time to sit at the computer trying to purchase items. Amazon.com or Ebay is much easier and user friendly. For all I know savebig could be hiring people to bid against the bids people are making. I think they should be investigated and shut down.

I have the same sad story. Bought bids, “won” some cheap no brand items, got charged 10 dollars each for shipping, received nothing in the mail. Go no responses to emails. This is really an amazing scam. They likely have no products, just a mysterious money sucking website and we all fell for it. I alerted the BBB as well. Probably won’t do any good. There are apparently some honest penny bid sites, this just isn’t one of them. BEWARE
